I’m Emily Forbes, Wylde woman, mother of two, published author, certified coach, and founder of Wylde Wellbeing.
If you are living with chronic stress, burnout, fatigue or managing chronic illness, I can help you from my lived experience, as well as expert training, research and further education. I’ve been on a personal journey through chronic illness, surgeries, moving towards wellness and finding ways to improve my wellbeing myself over the last few years, and I want to share what I’ve learned with you.
I’ve really struggled (alone for much of it), and wished I had somewhere to go to for tailored support, someone who looked at me as a whole person with a body, mind, soul, and emotions, rather than carving me up into little bits or tick boxes or even medical pathways or clinical departments – something which you may be familiar with! I’ve realised that many of the answers and solutions are inside me and you, they just need teasing out, and that’s why I’ve created a Whole-Wellness ™ model using my own lessons from adversity to support you to find possibility and your own Wylde Wellbeing.
My 1:1 coaching is designed specifically for women living with chronic illness, burnout and stress and who are looking for holistic support. I offer a personalised approach, focusing on creating realistic and sustainable routines that prioritise your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
I've learned that everything is interconnected. Living with chronic illness often means dealing with not just physical symptoms, but also the mental and emotional toll it can take on your wellbeing. Many women with chronic illness experience stress, anxiety, and negative thought patterns that only amplify the challenges of managing their health.
In our coaching sessions, we’ll work together to uncover the thoughts that may be holding you back, challenge limiting beliefs, and create new, healthier ways of thinking (using CBT coaching). I have developed my Wylde Wellbeing Whole-Wellness ™ methodology, to support you along the way and crucially, to look at your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and what you might be needing in each of these areas.
Whole-Wellness ™ is my way of improving on the known Biopsychosocial model of care and adding a further dimension, one that focuses on emotional and spiritual spheres too. I talk about this concept a lot more in my book Too Hard to Swallow.

I know that managing chronic illness can feel like an uphill battle, and it’s easy to get stuck in feelings of frustration or helplessness. But with the right mindset, support, and tools, you can take small steps toward creating a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
While chronic illness doesn’t have an easy ‘fix,’ nor a magic 'cure', together we can find ways to reduce stress, regulate your nervous system, improve your quality of life, and help you feel more empowered in your own health journey.
In my book, I offer ten lessons I've learned and ways which may help you to find more acceptance, peace and calm in the chaos of chronic illness burnout. I'll use these models in my coaching too.
These tools are used in positive psychology coaching, health coaching and life coaching and other therapy to focus on your goals, your motivations and your vision of the life you want to lead.
